For those of you who have seen me at church and have wondered why it looks like I have gained a few pounds in my belly....well....I have! I'm pregnant again and this time am expecting twins! They are fraternal twins (not identical) and will be joining our family in November (if not earlier). Dan and I are thrilled but shocked and freaked out at the same time. I'm so blessed to be able to be pregnant again knowing what we went through before, but didn't expect two little babies to join our family at the same time.Stay posted for more details and to find out what sex we're having. I'm praying for a boy and a girl, but I've come to realize that life never turns out how we'd like it to or expect! :)

Oh my goodness, Merianne! I can't believe it! Congratulations! TWINS!!!! I'm dying. And so very, very happy for you. Can't wait for all the details (be sure to post them here and facebook since I don't do facebook and don't want to be out of the loop).

Oh, I am SO excited for you Merianne. Have you been feeling okay? You are SO good with children and have been since you were young, so you'll be perfect with twins. I will be watching for your updates. Love Michel
Congratulations Mer! I haven't checked your blog in a long time. So it was great that when I finally do, I get to see this great surprise. I'm so happy for you. Twins will be such a wonderful adventure and I wish you the best!

Oh boy! I don't know whether to give my condolences or congratulations :-) Obviously, I'm very excited and happy for you both to have more kids! So congratulations it is!!!! A book that is very helpful is "Healthy SLeep Habits, Happy Twins" by Wiessbluth. Also, if I were to have twins again, I would make sure they were fed at the same time, no matter what. Since I couldn't nurse two together, I should have gone straight to bottles and stopped making myself feel so guilty for not nursing twins. You need sleep! Nursing each boy 8 times a day meant 16 feedings and NO SLEEP so it was terrible. So yeah, it's possible to nurse twins, and there are books out there "Mothering Multiples" is one of them, but sanity and sleep are more important, IMO (in hindsight, of course. Just ask Tom, I was a mess with the guilt of not breastfeeding for 2 years like everyone else with singletons--I only nursed for 4.5 months, but they weren't on a schedule either for eating or sleeping, and I regret that.
So, read Babywise, read the Healthy Sleep Habits book, read Mothering Multiples. There are a few others: Twinspiration (she also has a website, just google it). I also really really liked "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer" but she had NO INFO about twins and her scheduling with the "dream feeds" never worked for me.
I hope for one boy and one girl for you :-)
