Trip to Utah - October 2009

David and I just got back from another trip to Utah. Dan and I have been saving all our frequent flyer miles so I could take as many trips out to see my family as I would like. Right now is the time to take advantage of flying while my baby is a good little traveler, plus my dad is sick and I want him to be able to see my baby as much as possible.

We packed in as many activities as possible, and despite everybody in my family having strep throat, bronchitis, and David getting pink eye, I think it was a successful trip!

You can't go to Utah at Halloween and not go to Gardner Village's witch display.

David has the teeniest, tiniest feet you've ever seen. He is almost 6 months old and I can't find any real shoes that fit him. I finally found a pair of new born shoes that finally fit him - he's not sure what to make of it!

My brother Matt and his family came up one Sunday afternoon and I made Halloween chocolate suckers with his kids. I don't get to see them very often and when I do I try to treasure every moment I get with them.

I taught my dad how to make whole wheat bread....good job Pops!

First time for David eating baby food...he ate it like a champ! I couldn't shovel it in fast enough. So sad that this boy is already turning out like his mom & dad!

My flight back to VA was delayed several hours and I wasn't sure I'd be able to make my connection in Dallas, so I stayed a few more days with my family. We had a time share condo in Park City, so my mom, sister Noelle & I took the kiddos up there for a few days until my flight left on Saturday. I was ready to get home, but I'm glad I decided to stay a few days because those were some of my fondest memories of the trip.

Thanks mom & dad for letting us crash your place for 2 weeks (and thanks to Aunt Nat for letting me take over her bedroom). We love coming home and look forward to another trip over Christmas!

Such a beautiful boy! And his eyes..he looks like he's just taking in as much information as possible. I'm glad you were able to see your family in Utah and even have your trip unexpectedly extended a few days. Bonus!

I loved the update with all the pics, Mer. Little David is adorable - those chubby cheeks are so kissable. It was fun to see your mom and dad and family in pictures, too. You are a trooper to fly across country with a baby alone!

So cute! We didn't make it to Gardner Village this year. Now that I've seen the updated pics, I have to concede that David's cuteness definitely rivals my kids. :) -laura

I'm glad to see that your mom has passed on Grandma Walker's tradition of picking raspberries with the grandchildren. Nate W.
