is this really happening?

Today I'm wearing my first pair of official maternity pants. I got tired of cutting the circulation off around my belly with my regular pants, so I figured it was time to bite the bullet and buy some real maternity clothes. I can't believe the time has come.....

Maternity clothes = frumpy (in my personal opinion)

The styles right now are perfect to be pregnant! You can probably get away with a lot of regular tops since there are a lot of oversized cardigans and long tops with straight leg jeans or leggings Anyway, I know my sisters-in law all bought designer jeans that were maternity like Sevens. They found them on ebay for cheap. maybe try that instead? Everyone likes a pregnant woman...NEVER frumpy! :-)

Hehe...welcome to awesome fashion land. I tried to hold off on maternity pants as long as I could. Yeah, that lasted about 3 hours after I got pregnant. Good luck with the clothes...seriously there are alot of cute ones out there. There are way cuter things than these two stores carry, but the cheaper places that had some selection were Target and ShopKo. I always felt like Motherhood Maternity were frumpy and oversized, but they do have some amazing jeans there.

Anyway...you weren't asking where to shop, so I'll leave you alone. But I'm sure you'll look great! It's all for a good cause!

Welcome to the fabulous world of being pregnant. But don't worry....pregnant women REALLY do look so cute...it's just not fun when you are the one getting fat!!!
Good luck with everything!!!

(Old Navy was one of my favorite places to shop for maternity!!!)

Motherhood Maternity is super frumpy. My favorite places for maternity clothes are Old Navy, Target (the majority of my maternity clothes are from Target), and H&M. Dulles Town Center has an ON and H&M with maternity. Gap also has some cute maternity stuff.

Good luck! I agree with the people who said that pregnant women always look cute, even if they don't feel cute.

Can't imagine you being anything but cute!

I take it back, I have some very cute shorts from Motherhood. Otherwise I still think it is overpriced and 99% frumpy.

It's a weird stage when you're too big for regular and not quite big enough for maternity clothes. I am constantly wearing sweat pants these days.
I agree you are probably looking adorable.
Post pictures of the bump!

Just wait until you don your first maternity shirt. There is something about them that tell the world you aren't the same skinny Merianne you used to be.

Congratulatoins Merianne! We are really excited for you guys. It has been a long road, but there is such an exciting end in sight:) I know what you mean on the clothes! If you go to some stores you can by cute clothes in big sizes and that will work too. We can't wait to see pictures of your growing belly :)

i'm with Eliza - Motherhood is overpriced and frumpy. not a big fan of the pants there. my legs were never skinny enough to get away with shorts. But, as everyone has said - no pregnant woman looks frumpy, she looks beautiful and pregnant and make most woman wish they were pregnant (unless you're waddling around in the 9th month and then we're all glad we're not pregnant!) :)
as i don't live there i'm going to have to ask you post lots and lots of pregnant pictures of yourself. EVEN if you don't feel like it. i have no doubt you will be a vision during you're whole pregnancy.
congratulations a millions times over.

Ahhh, my sympathies. Here's my added advice (as if you were looking for some) - I went to The Buckle and bought some ridiculously low waisted Silvers and wore them my whole pregnancy. The shirts are long anyway, right?
