Air Show

Yesterday Dan and I went to the Joint Forces Air Show at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. I had never seen anything like it and really enjoyed my day....except for getting fried in the sun and the long lines I had to wait in. Dan has an incredible knowledge of planes and it was fun having him explain everything to me. Being there just made me realize how powerful our country is and it made me proud to me a citizen of the United States of America.

Starfighters is the World's only supersonic,
civilian jet demonstration team.

The F-22 Raptor is the most advanced
fighter plane in operation right now.

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter

The missile on an F-16

The most touching part of the air show was when we saw 4 generations of America's finest fighter jets flying together representing 50 years of technological advancement.

P-51 = WW2
F-4= Vietnam
F-15E=Gulf War
F-22 = War of the future

C5 Galaxy - largest AF plane in service

C-130

Not sure what kind of plane this is-but it was huge. (Edit: Dan says it's a B-52 strategic bomber)

The Navy Blue Angels were incredible.
I could have watched them all day.

My poor sunburned arm (the picture doesn't do it justice). Dan and I have never been so fried in our lives. It's so embarrassing! The last time I had water blisters on my nose was when I was in junior high and thought I was too cool for sunscreen.

Dan also made a cool video of the F-22 Stealth Fighter in flight...check it out!

And HERE is his video of the Air Force Heritage Flight.

Mer-cool pictures and I loved the video. Thanks for sharing.

You guys should come to Chicago in August for the big air and water show! One of these days you are going to take me up on my begging! :)

Uh, were you too cool for sunscreen Saturday as well? You know what Dr. Vanderhooft would say about that wouldn't you...

What a fun day! Minus the sunburn of course!

Hey, we were there too! But I didn't see you...obviously.

We missed the Blue Angels by about an hour. We got there much earlier and had to go home before they came on. I'm glad they were cool though!

It was fun. The lines were ridiculous, though, I have to agree. I almost got in a fight with the security guy about letting me bring in Theo's cup of milk. I should have lied and said it was formula. How dumb. It took us an hour once we were inside even to find bottled water.

fun! I commented on Dan's blog - you can read it there if you want. Hope you are well. We really should get together.
