After Christmas Blues

I always get the blues after Christmas. My parents have been in town the last 10 days for Christmas and for the birth of my niece, and they just left today. I would have thought that after 10 days of them being here I would be jumping with joy to see them leave, but that wasn't the case. I had a harder time with them leaving than I thought I would, I cried and cried and cried some more. My parents leaving coupled with going back to work, teaching piano lessons and all the other responsibilities that come with "real life" has given me the blues tonight.

I guess one thing to look forward to is our new XBox 360 we bought ourselves for Christmas. I just hope I don't turn into a slug and and jam out to Guitar Hero 24/7.

Oh, I'm sad for you! That's always sad to see parents leave...especially when you live as far away as you do. Big BOOHOO to real life...I hope your blues don't last very long.

OH, I hear you. Starting the day after christmas through february - I call it Post Holiday Depression Disorder (PHDD) - it's very similar to post vacation Depression disorder. Real life and being a responsible adult is highly overrated!

Just think, Valentine's day and the end of tax season is just around the corner!

I think it's always harder when your guests leave as opposed to when you leave after staying with someone else. When you are visiting someone else, then you have to worry about catching a plane, unpacking, etc. but when people visit you, then all you have to do is look around at your empty house and think about how much you miss them!

Post-Christmas is always hard for me too.
