I remember the first time I tried sushi I wanted to throw up. I thought it was the nastiest tasting thing I had ever tried. As I've gotten older my tastes have changed and I actually like things that I never thought I would...including sushi. (that's what happens when you grow up)!
Dan and I like to make our own sushi and did so last night. Dan's friend was in town for the weekend and we invited him over to come roll sushi with us. Everything was perfect...except for the oil fire I caused from the fried tempura. Long story....maybe for another post!

salmon, tuna, shrimp, cucumbers, cream cheese, avocado, & carrots.....

completed sushi roll....delicious!

Wow, I'm really impressed! It looks I'll be calling you for some tips. You helped me through fondue...now maybe it's time we tried sushi! I love it but have never tried it on my own...

Thanks so much for having me over last night for sushi. It was awesome, and so much fun to have dinner with friends when traveling.
Next time you're in KC, you'll have to come over to our house for BBQ!

lOk, sushi is an abomination and unatural food. Now, if it was made of: rice krispie treat with a dolop of peanut butter, m&ms, and rolled in fruit leather I'd be all over it...but the dead fish must go. Although I give you props for the lovely presentation...looks great!

mer - i can't believe you allow yourself to eat such nastiness :). at least you are having fun with it. i wish you would get your middle sister into this blogging business...
The first time I tried sushi I hated it to. But I'm hoping the next time I try it I like it. Maybe if you make it I'll be brave enough to try it again and end up loving it!

Mer, I ate sushi for the first time last week in Chicago and it was really good! I'm excited for your trip to Europe and can't wait to hear how you like it. Paris is the BEST and I'm sure you're going to love it. Enjoy!
