Happy Birthday Caroline
Well, my cake fetish got the best of me again this week as I spent three days slaving in the kitchen. My friend asked me to make a birthday cake for her daughter...I of course said yes because I need all the practice I can get. This was the first cake I've actually made for somebody else so I was a nervous wreck until I completed it. Several disasters almost occurred but I finished and delivered it one piece....and Caroline was very happy with the results.

What a beautiful cake. I wish you lived closer and I'd keep you in business year round!
You are such a pro..that is a beautiful cake. I will definatly pay you to make lizzy's birthday cake next year!! What a talent! Jess
Mer - totally impressed (especially since I've taken a cake decorating class and nothing of mine even looked half that good!). Way to go...and have fun in London, that sounds exciting!

Merianne!! I just found your blog off of Becca's. Your hair is so long! I had to scroll all the way down to look at all the pictures to make sure it was you but I don't know anyone else who spells your name the way you do. It's Holly from Bountiful- the one you set up with Todd B. and would have lunch with at PCMC? I have wondered so many times how you were and what you were up to. I love your blog. I can't believe how long it's been since I've talked to you or seen you and how many things can change in that time. I can't believe you're in DC, that you decorate elaborate cakes, and that you married some Dan guy that I have no clue who he is! :) So many questions are running through my head. I'm married now, not to Todd obviously, and have 2+ kids. You should check out my blog at https://thesharpsspot.blogspot.com I'll check back on yours often now and I'm so glad I found you! Crazy small world.
It's totally pretty! Great job. I love the flowers.
Hey Merianne, love the blog. (saw the link in your e-mail and had to follow it...) Cute cake! I am in awe of your flower-making skills. AND, in London you must go to one of those crepe stands and have a crepe with Cadbury chocolate. Also if you enjoy shopping (and don't mind paying in pounds--ugh) check out Topshop. And Portobello Road if you like flea markets!
See ya!
